I am a therapist who believes in treating and engaging the whole person. I have many years of clinical experience treating adults, couples and teens. I believe that each individual is unique and provide a safe and non judgmental space for healing and understanding. I have worked with individuals, couples, families and groups and work on issues including anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, transitions, grief, parent child and work place difficulties. I have experience working with trauma, substance abuse, crisis management and integrated behavioral health care.
I recognize the value of building a trusting therapeutic partnership and utilize a variety of modalities and approaches. I have a personal interests in System’s Theory, Holistic and Somatic Psychotherapy, Character Development and Personality Structure, and Spirituality.
Melissa Prellwitz, MA, LMFT
Melissa obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with minor in Sociology and a Master's in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in marital and family therapy from the University of Rhode Island.
Melissa's philosophy is therapy is a safe place to express your thoughts and feelings and to feel heard. It's no secret that at times life is hard and can be extremely challenging. No matter where you are or what you have experienced on your journey, it's possible to live a richer, more fulfilling, and successful life. Melissa takes a collaborative approach with her clients, and her goal is to work together as a team so you can accomplish your goals and live life according to what is most important to you.
Courtney Young, LMHC
Deborah McDade, LICSW
Deborah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 plus years of experience working with children, preteens and teens dealing with a variety of issues in multiple practice settings. Deborah has a practical, down to earth style and utilizes a variety of treatment modalities. She believes that change can occur in the context of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Deborah uses an individualized, collaborative approach that supports children and teens in learning and building the skills they need to successfully navigate through life's challenges so they are able to overcome obstacles and work towards realizing their full potential.
Courtney Young, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's Degree in Holistic Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Mental Health. Courtney utilizes an individualized, holistic, and wholehearted approach with each and every client she works together with to encourage her clients to access inner truths and practice discernment through self-awareness and mindfulness.
Courtney provides support and validation to her clients using Person-centered, Strength-based, Trauma-informed approaches, along with mind/body centered techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), and Creative and Expressive arts. Courtney has 5 plus years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings including individualized outpatient counseling, intensive home-based services, acute hospital inpatient, and residential rehabilitative programs.
Courtney is passionate about helping people find joy and meaning in their lives. She feels it is important to create a safe, non-judgmental space for her clients to explore their innermost thoughts and feelings with a sense of curiosity, compassion, and courage. Courtney’s primary interest is working with adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, mood regulation, stress management, life transitions, gender identity, trauma, shame, grief, career/academic performance enhancement, parenting, codependency, and healthy relationships.
